Reading Your Holdings Breakdown

Last updated: 2026-03-05

When you open an account in Greenline, you’ll see all your holdings listed in a table. Here’s what each column means.

  • Ticker — The stock or ETF symbol (e.g. XEQT, VFV, AAPL). This is the shorthand name for the investment.
  • Shares — How many units you own of that stock or ETF.
  • Book value — What you originally paid for the position in total. This is your cost basis.
  • Market value — What the position is worth today, based on the current price.
  • Gain/Loss — The difference between market value and book value, shown in dollars and as a percentage. Green means you’re up. Red means you’re down.
  • Weight — What percentage of that account this holding represents. For example, if one holding makes up 40% of the account, its weight is 40%.

You can tap any holding to see its full transaction history and performance over time.
